Baltimore, MD – (January 21, 2009) Baltimore-based Lookingglass Cyber Solutions - the leading provider of global cyber situational awareness products - reports outstanding performance in 2009. Increased revenues in 2009 resulted in over 250% growth as compared to 2008. The company also expanded its customer base in each of its targeted market sectors and attained profitability at year’s end. Despite an unfavorable economic climate, Lookingglass has been able to excel, in large part, because of their ability to deliver a compelling product to a growing market.
Lookingglass has worked diligently to position itself as a partner with a number of heavy-hitters in the cybersecurity industry, which is learning more and more everyday about how malicious activity across the Internet imposes a real threat of disrupting business operations and critical infrastructure. Their core product, ScoutVision™, allows corporations to monitor networks and infrastructure they are not in control of, but rely heavily upon for day-to-day operations.
“Situational awareness can be the difference between banks maintaining the ability to trade, emergency responders maintaining the ability to communicate, and the power grid servicing its clients,” said Derek Gabbard, chief executive officer of Lookingglass. “Our customers understand these consequences and are leading the way for their respective industries.” ScoutVision™ deployments grew by over 200% in 2009 and Lookingglass is carrying that momentum into 2010 as they prepare to launch a pilot project with several financial institutions this month.
During 2009, Lookingglass signed the NASA SEWP IV contract, a seven year Government-Wide Acquisition Contract, with Sword & Shield Enterprise Security, Inc. that would make ScoutVision™ available to all government agencies. Lookingglass added new contracts with Sandia National Labs and Northrop Grumman and signed a second year contract with Department of Homeland Security.
Surrounded by federal agencies and government system integrators whose major priority is cyber situational awareness solutions, Lookingglass looks to capitalize on its geographical location and plans to focus its efforts in 2010 on building upon its government and commercial customer base.
